Xinjiang's, as the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt, is increasingly emerging

For thousands of years, in Xinjiang, which is located in the hinterland of Asia and Europe, the sound of camel bells accompanied caravans across the Gobi desert, closely connecting China with the economies and cultures of Asia and Europe. Today, with the continuous advancement of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative, the ancient Silk Road, which used to be the main means of transportation, has once again burst out with vigor and vitality, relying on a modern three-dimensional transportation network integrating railways, highways and aviation. , Xinjiang's status as a hub in the core area of the Silk Road Economic Belt has become increasingly apparent.

……The "Sea of Death" Taklimakan Desert, Bailifeng District, Pamir Plateau... These complex geographical environments in Xinjiang, which once brought endless suffering to business travelers, are gradually being "tamed" by modern transportation: winding thousands of kilometers, crossing China and The Karakoram Highway in Pakistan's high mountains and mountains witnesses the increasingly tight hand of China-Pakistan friendship; the Lanxin Railway and Lanxin High-speed Railway Line are the main channels, the Linhe-Hami Railway is the north channel, and the Golmud-Korla Railway is the south channel. , which is making the "speedy entry into and out of Xinjiang" a reality; the first high plateau airport - Tashkurgan Khunjerab Airport is about to open, and the Pamirs will set up an "air bridge" with the world...

In the past ten years, Xinjiang's transportation construction has ushered in the period with the largest investment scale and the fastest development speed in history. According to data released by the Department of Transportation of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, from January to August this year alone, the investment in transportation infrastructure in the region reached 51.838 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 15.3%. A large number of transportation projects, such as the S254 line passing through the "sea of death", such as the Yuli-Qiemo highway and the Yitunbulac-Ruoqiang highway, have been completed and opened to traffic. Xinjiang is accelerating the formation of a road traffic pattern extending in all directions.

As the largest land port in Chinese northwest, Alashankou Port currently has 91 China-Europe freight train routes, which has effectively promoted the economic and trade exchanges and common development of countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.

Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd., in the first eight months of this year, the number of China-Europe (Central Asia) trains at Alashankou and Horgos railway ports in Xinjiang reached 8,701, reaching 19 countries and regions in Europe and Asia. When Chinese goods leave the country through the Alashankou railway port, they can arrive at Seljadino Station in Moscow Oblast, Russia in about a week; from the Khorgos port customs clearance to the important distribution hub in Europe - the Malaszewicz Railway Station in Poland, the whole journey only requires 10-15 days.

Xinjiang also takes full advantage of its location in the hinterland of the Eurasian continent to continuously "weave dense" air routes. At present, Xinjiang has basically formed a multi-level and multi-functional air transportation system with Urumqi International Airport as the hub and regional airports as the support; 24 civil airports have been put into use. Since the beginning of this year, many places in Xinjiang have resumed international cargo routes one after another, and international cargo charter flights at air ports have grown rapidly; China Southern has resumed three passenger routes between Urumqi and Almaty, Bishkek and Dushanbe since July. There are 26 international passenger routes from Urumqi.

Today, a modern three-dimensional transportation network that extends in all directions and has smooth internal and external connections has gradually formed in Xinjiang, providing convenience for exchanges along the Silk Road Economic Belt. In the future, Xinjiang, which has transformed from the northwestern frontier to the hub of the Silk Road Economic Belt, will continue to incorporate the regional opening-up strategy into the country's overall layout for opening up to the west, and play a more important role in expanding opening up.
